I am a long distance cyclist and I do multi day rides across states and such. If I didn’t have (high amounts) of supplemental electrolytes I would never make it. I have read quite a bit on this subject and experienced dehydration and rehydration firsthand many times. It’s 100% necessary to have supplemental electrolytes. I will take my “sugar water laced with electrolytes” and have no concern for dehydration whatsoever. It has the opposite effect.
