Apex XTX50 and XTX40 - which first stage to choose?

Glad to see I am not the only one that has tried this. However I did this to a DST
 
Sold one with a DIY "FSR seal up an US4".

Sold the other with a US4 to make the deal more attractive. I have none now. Suffering sellers remorse.
 
Feel extra bad as the lovely Japanese man who made them passed away and no more can be had.

Another bad decision to add to my ever increasingly long list.
 
There is no way that a DS4 is "basically the same" cost as an FSR anywhere in the world, more like double the price.

The thing is that the FSR is sold in sets (round 400-500€) with the XTX50/200 2stage and XTX40 octo, unlike the DS4 (I would need to buy everything separately), so in the end it will cost the same.

Apeks does not have distributors in Portugal, so I'm basing this based on ebay, numerous italian and german stores and other international stores (ScubaStore for example).
