Just forget about going there this year.

“...However, given the worrisome situation some parts of Asia are going through with countries breaking world records for the most new coronavirus cases in a day, and literally hundreds of people dying at hospitals’ doors, Bali authorities have announced they will reassess the countries they will have travel bubbles with.

The country had targeted Singapore, China, South Korea, India, the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates as the first potential allies, but now, they are having second thoughts. It has become evident there will be a shift in the rules...”

I had given up the idea long time ago but some Indonesian politicians just could not keep their mouths SHUT!
They never had a plan and only trying to sell a DREAM to the unexpected.
When Thailand opened for tourists at the end of last yr they already had a working plan!!!!!
Where to stay in Bangkok/Phuket, the accommodation rate, length of the quarantine required, how/where to apply, extended visa etc etc. All in black and white.

It was June originally and now at the end of July!

Biggest expectation = Highest disappointment.

I have a soon to be expired travel fund, due to flight cancellation from last yr, but the airline has yet to reply to my request for an extension. Not a lot I can do so more or less had written it off already.
Feel sorry for those who had paid for the LoB and the operator is still dragging their feet on refund/reschedule.

Standard answer to your question:
“Besok!” Or “Lusa!”
Besok has two meanings: 1 - tomorrow, which is the next day. 2 - Sometimes in future.

Let's hope it will happen end July like they predict. Even if it's only a limited area that opens (green zones) and only for certain countries (travel corridors) it will at least be a small step in the good direction. Fingers crossed :)

Still hopeful for a Bali and Wakatobi opening for our planned trip this fall. The issue we're finding is booking with the airlines right now as they are either canceling flights or selling out so fast we can't get a seat. Hopeful, but uncertain for sure.

I just want to go home. I haven't seen my fiancé since Feb of last year.
We live in Kuta, but I work a broad. I was working on a research ship, but now I've moved back to the states and still have not been able to return to Indonesia nor able to get her out. We are about to submit for a K-1 visa to get her stateside. F@ck COVID!
