    never learned to swim as a child - mom and dad put me in the water - I cried - they took me out - end of story.
    took first swim lesson at 23 yrs of age - didn't take
    several years ago we got a small above ground pool and some cheap snorkel masks - found I liked being underwater with the mask on
    took scuba lessons last year (at age 48) with husband of 31 years.
