Christian, why does it seem that Sudan dive travel does not exist during Nov/Dec/jan - is the diving bad, or the weather bad during the winter months?

Not really have the latest re cruises as I have dived other parts of the world for the latest decade. But weather, or wind more exactly, is a big factor in the Red Sea and in Sudan very much so. Winter generally 'windier'. With that said, there used to be diving organised year round in Sudan, with the exeption for high summer July-August.

    Dive History:
Started diving in the Baltic Sea 1985. Became DM and has dived in various places in Scandinavia, pretty much all of the Egyptian Red Sea and most of the known Sudan sites from Elba to the Suakins, Pemba and Zanzibar of Tanzania, Inahmabane/Tofo in Mocambique, Thailand (most spots in Andaman Sea from Richelieu and Surin down to Lanta), The Maldives (various atolls), Malaysia/Indonesia (Borneo) and Jamaica in the carribean... Arranged liveaboards in the Red Sea 1990's to early 2000's.
Started with UW-photography in 2001 when I purchased an amphibious film camera. Sold that camera a few years later (while it was still possible to get rid of it). Bought a digital slr in 2006 and has since become a true "Semi-pro"* and have sold and published images in magazines and papers in Sweden, Norway, Germany and Switzerland as well as for sites.
*Semi-pro meaning that the cost for taking the images far exceeds the income. My wife calls a very expensive hobby.
