I remember seeing a post by an operator that seemed very eco concious about following the rules and not overly disturbing the whale sharks. I can't find that post but would like to find out who that might be.

One other thing I'd like to know. I believe the rules now require wearing a life preserver. I'm wondering if a scuba harness/backpack/bladder would be acceptable?

I'm interested in traveling to snorkel with whale sharks in July or August of 2020 and I saw in one of your posts that you are willing to offer advice. I'm not sure yet if I want to drag my diving gear or will just snorkel. So far what I've seen makes me think that I should stay in Cancun rather than Coz. Not sure how difficult it would be to get to Isla Mujeres. Any advice you could offer would be appreciated.
