I'm going to concentrate on getting my cert and get a better idea about what exactly i want to do with it as i go along. As you said, there are many different avenues in diving i could take. I'm very familiar with boats so working towards Captain may be something worth investigating.

      You are very welcome.

Did you figure out what you would like to do? If you don't have anything tying you a singel location, you might want to give mega-yacht dive officer training some serious consideration... Great starting pay, see the world and, if you find dive instruction too tame you can transition to mega yacht crew and then Captain. International Yacht Training (YachtMaster.com) provides the program as a joint venture with a local IDC, so you can get the training for both Scuba Instructor and Yacht Crewman simultaneously.

If I didn't have two young kids (one just over a year) I know I would be very tempted to go that route!

      Thanks for the add.
