TKS SB; How did you handle carrying all that cash around and what did you do with it when you dove? How much do you think I should take and is the exchange rate better at the airports? The hotel attached to Dolphin dive is expensive and no meals. Did you stay there or what would you suggest?

I did stay at the hotel attached to Dolphin dive. We went in the summer and were very glad to have the a/c there and were generally happy with the hotel overall. Expect rustic no matter where you stay. They don't serve meals, but there are many restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel, including one right across the path.

I kept most of the cash in my locked Pelican case underneath the bed, carrying only what I would need for the day. If I remember correctly, the dive op and hotel accepted credit cards (but you'd probably want to reconfirm), so I brought enough for 3 meals a day + beverages, with a 20% buffer for contingencies.

We got cash at the airport ATM for convenience sake, you may get a slightly better exchange rate if you're willing to find a bank in Managua.
