tried to PM, but could not locate the option- in regards to your thoughts about using a full face mask with your rebreather I'd recommend looking into sticking your BOV in the lower pod of the Kirby Morgan SuperMask. They have two models the SuperMask and the MOD-1 feel free to contact me if interested. When we started using them with CCRs years ago we thought we hit the safety lottery.

And I sent him the same advice, using the supermask exclusively now. Dive safe!

Hi there. I was wondering if any one can tell me if there is such a device as a dive helmet for a recreational diver yet. With my ears I can not even go 8 ft deep. All I have found was a helmet rebreather in design stage. It sounds great and would able me to dive. But not ready and possibly never will.

You will still need to be able to equalize your ears and sinus passages with such a helmet. In fact, they make it even harder. A competent instructor can teach you how to do it properly so your ears won't hurt.

Some of my students that have had problems equalizing have found that these help as well:

As netdoc said, helmets are not the way to go. There are some other medical / equipment options available though.

Starting my rebreather journey. My local dive center uses the prism 2. Which brand do you use and why. Thank you.

New to the board..a group of guys are scheduled to do Cabo and Cabo Pulmo Marine Reserve 9/24 -9/28 and were wondering if any divers that are there between now and that date can fill us in on conditions after Hurricane Newton....prefer to hear it from those actually there, not speculators..Thx. How do we start a post to that effect, as I seem to be missing the simple process somewhere

Do people go diving by themselves? A good friend has been diving for almost 40 years, had an accident. He was alone, tends to be reckless. He was a Master Scuba Diver.

There are ways to do it. I teach a solo diving class that teaches you NOT to be reckless. Sorry for your friend.
