      Hi Bob,

I am a newly certified diver in Southern CA, and though I'm hearing, I am ASL capable and really would like a dive buddy that can also communicate with me elaborately underwater. I am a ground instructor in aviation, and work with deaf pilots, and socialize with a lot of the Deaf community, but don't know any divers. I am frustrated with the limitations of "SCUBA sign-language," and in my search for a local dive-buddy would love someone open to learning, if not already knowledgeable. A Deaf diving buddy would be great! Please let me know if you have any information on avenues of finding such a person. I am happy to help So CA area deaf become certified, if there are people interested, as well. Thanks! -Mel
