Mick,
Congrats to you and your girlfriend.
I'm with Mario. I use the 500psi and love it.
Keep diving and someday..
Dive the planet!

Mick
Good job on completing your OW cert. Looks like you are the one that keep your cool under water and stayed with your buddy. I hope that I am that claim when i get out in the open water.
Shane.........

Kilo, you will love it.
I couldnt believe how good it was, nerves were soon taken over by excitement.
Dont worry about a thing when you get into OW for the first time.
Just remember that if you get into a panick, you can still breathe, and even if you cant, your buddy is there to help you, that's why you stay close and know where they are.

Trust me, at the end of your course you will wonder why you were nervous in the first place !!!

Mick

congratulations Mick, diving is one of those things that you just cant get enough of, hopefully you will extend your diving training. it will make you a more confident diver and with more training, you will be a safer diver. congrats and have fun, and above all,, get wet. sam

Diving is one of those things that you can never explain with mere words... ya just have to do it! Congrats!
Guess I'll throw my .02 in on defog... 500psi works great but is a PITA to rinse. I use Trident and put it in a small spray bottle. 1 spray on each lense.. leave it till right before I jump in. Quick rinse and I'm ready to go. And new masks always need a good "minty fresh" toothpaste scrubbing to get that silicone film off.
Have fun, Mick! It only gets better after your 1st OW plunge! Casey

Hey Mick
You know I have already started my class. You see my landlord is an instuctor , he is teaching me and oneother person together. I have had to do a lot of reading on my own for now. We are going together this Sat. and Mon. to go over what to is that we have read so far.April 7 we are going to Catalina Island to do two or three beach dives I can not wait. Then we get to go and do a boat dive and then I will be all done. For today sitting on dry land waiting.............Shane

Hay I must say that I had the time of my life this past Saturday. Now the water was cold the vis was about 25' to 30' sometimes about 15'.And that was because there was a storm that was moving in over the coast of so. cal. Friday,Saturday. On Sat we got to Casino Point about 0800 the sun was hidding behind the clouds for most of the day,I think that it came out after the third and last dive.It is one thing to see underwater life on tv but to see it up close for yourself is the only way to see it. We are going to be doing a boat dive off Anacapa in a week or two. Then we well be all cert.

Shane

Catalina is always fun. As a San Diego resident I get to go there often... though I must say that I enjoy San Clemente trips more.
