My dad had a Dacor, I believe, when I was a little kid. It was lost shortly after we moved about 20 years ago and I've always looked around to find another of the same model. It's one of those things you remember from your youth that you wonder where it went, if one like it is still around. The original plastic "strap it onto your body" sheath had come apart over the years and he had a local leathermaker stitch one up for him.
It was from the mid 70's, hard rubber handle, metal guard, round pommel that you could unscrew, standard style bowie blade. I think it had etched ruler-markings on one side. There were serrations on the back. There was no line cutting notch. Anyone with pics or info of knives from that era fitting that description, I'd be very grateful.
I realize there are many more better examples available today. I don't dive (yet
) and neither did my dad, but I think it would be cool to get ahold of some pics of one of those and identify the model.
