Pronunciation of DIR?

Since I've only seen it written, and I guess it might come up in
conversation some time... I tried searching here, and google.

Is it "dee eye are" or "der"? Or something else?

And while I'm asking, is it "jee you eee" or "goo eee" or ...

I would think that it would be "dee eye are" since it's an acronym for "Doing It Right" as opposed to an abbreviation for a longer word that starts with 'dir' (like 'directory').

But that's just my opinion....
