I haven't found anything interesting while diving, but while in a boat on Canyon Lake, Austin, I once found a full bag of pot with a $100 bill inside. No kidding. Just floating on top while we circled around to pick up our ski buddy.
Sweet! Who knew that water skiing could be so profitable.

Years ago when i was a child, my grandma, sister and i went fishing on a dingy out in front of our cottage. The anchor got stuck and my grandpa had to come out with the ski boat and try. We couldn't get it loose. Well grandpa always talked about the location of that anchor and what could have possibly gotten it stuck, a log, junk, seaweed you name it. When we started scuba diving he was always interested in what we saw and what we could possibly find. Well a year after he passed away, we were ending out dive and creeping up the drop off and i saw something tiny sticking out of the sand. It looked like a hook. With no gloves, i told my dad to grab it. It happened to be a small anchor just like we lost. We believe it was the anchor from 20 years ago :) Too bad grandpa couldn't have been there but who knows, he may have seen it from heaven :)

Another cute story. One year my grandpa was sitting on the deck and some recovery diving crew came out in front of our cottage looking to recover a brass prop from one of those beautiful wooden small boats ( the name is escaping me) Many years later after hearing this story again and again from grandpa, I saw what looked like a can lit peaking out from under the sand. Dad grabbed it and pulled out an entire brass prop. It was heavy but I made him drag it to shore. Dad was a little jealous that I've found great things. Grandpa told me that it was probably the one those people were looking for it and we should sell it. No way, it was a great find. Today its sitting on my dad's desk and always a conversation starter.

Other items found.

Old mason jar
Full complete tackle box with everything in it, and gross black stuff

i'm sure there's more but i should get back to work.

Hope you enjoyed my stories.

Found the following.

A Gun
Broken safe
Dismantled motorcycle
My office wall displays the date of my first Dry Suit Dive on a Fresbie I found in Lake Raystown, PA.

Those are some of the odd ones. The rest is junk that gets tossed into old quarries and lakes in this region.

I was diving near the mouth of a cave when suddenly a strong current swept me inside. I was tossed around in that labarinth like a helpless rag doll in a raging storm drain. It reminded me of when I was swept down the LA river in a flash flood. Well I was glad I had my twin tanks on and a hogarthian harness. I awoke far from that cave entrance and miles from my boat. I surfaced and noticed a small island that hadn't been listed upon my charts. Swimming ashore I began to explore. I took a photo of the bay but I still have no idea what the name of this island is. Can anyone elp me. Has anyone seen this place?

I can't claim credit for finding it...but I lost a weight pouch with 4lbs in Bonaire on my first dive of the trip...A week later, after basically giving up on it I stopped into the dive-shop we'd be using (BDA) and sure enough someone had found it and turned it! A veritable lost & found out on Bari reef...I was ecstatic to get it back.
