I can't believe they broke the valve by hand on the first take; seems like they learned their lesson. from what I can gather, the point of the video is to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Abstroemventil aka "dispersion valve" (feel free to correct my rusty German), which is why the last two tanks don't launch
 
I saw one on MythBusters the other night that went through a wall.
 
Someone knocked over the oxygen tank for the acetylene welder in metal shop, when I was in high school. It busted the valve off and that thing took off like a missile, right through the shop wall..... We found it, a few days later, at the other end of the football field. Mr. Yeager was not best pleased...
