FROM THE UNDERSEA OUTFITTERS WEBSITE:

HYDE'S QUARRY NEWS!!!!!
If you haven't heard by now Hyde's Quarry has been purchased by Carroll County as an emergency water source for the future. How this will affect diving there is still uncertain. It is our understanding that the county has no immediate plans to do anything with the property so we are hopefull that we can continue our operations there. As of right now diving will still take place on our normal schedule. Please watch this spaced for future announcements.

thats good news for now.........lets keep our fingers our crossed

We've been talking to Laird and George about this pretty much every week or so. Laird has been trying to make sure that all the reporters who publish the Water Source stories also know that it's an active dive site as well.

Lets hope it stays open to divers. . . a lot of work has been put into that place. . .

Where is Hydes quarry located. I Live in Maryland and would be interested in diving it.

just outside of New Windsor . . .

The quarry is leased and run by Undersea Outfitters. Check their Upcoming Events calendar for dates that it's open -- right now that's basically Saturdays and Sundays 9-2, and the 1st and 3rd wednesdays 4-8PM for "Happy hour".

It's a place to get wet -- there's a quarry, a trailer for changing, and a porta-pot. And fish that love spray-cheese.
