Mares Proton Issue

Interesting chain of events here. In anticipation of an upcoming trip I took my 11 month old Mares Proton Metal Tech LE in for servicing. It had performed flawlessy but in the last dive or two it had started to make a "chattering" sound on inhalation. There was no effect on the way it breathed but the noise worried me. I just received a call from my LDS and they called Mares about it, Mares asked them to priority ship it back to them for inspection. Unfortunately I only got a voicemail and a little info about this but I found it to be a pretty intersting move on Mares part.
Anyone hear of a similiar situation or know of any issues/recalls with these regs?
I'll post a follow up when I get more info.
