:confused:My wife and I will be in S.FL in a couple of days to dive with JDC. I will be in WPB for 2 wks. Want to dive other areas. Looking for opinions a little further south. Thoughts on dive charters and dive quality around Deerfield and Boynton as oppossed to Jupiter and WPB. Are the sights and critters just as plentiful? I know the diving is cheaper down south. Most charters offer 10 trip boat cards that is much cheaper than the Jupiter area is there a reason I am not aware of? Would love to hear of trip reports on Dixie Divers as their 2 Tank, 10 trip card is only $275. Thats cheap!!! Would be curious to hear about other operators in that area. If you have any thoughts they would be well appreciated. I hate to sound cheap but diving has become an addiction on a Fireman budget! Thanks for any replies or Help

The Dixie Divers deal is almost certainly five 2-tank trips or $55 / trip.

In Boynton Beach a favorite of mine and many here is http://www.diveboyntonbeach.com. Kevin (scubakevdm) is the operator and is active here on the board. He runs his charter as 34' 6-pack charging $60 for a 2-tank trip. You'll have a great experience and this would be my recommendation.

Check out the Florida Conch Divers section on the board and do a few searches. You'll find a lot of great info on the operators and local diving opportunities.

Good luck with your trip and feel free to PM me if I can provide any further info.

Thanks for you input . I talked with Dixie Divers its a 10 trip boat pass, each trip is a 2 tank trip. 275 plus you pay for nitrox or air its a great deal I think. Thanks brent

That'd be my recommendation as well!

The website says "Dive Package (10 boat dives)" not 10 boat trips. I'm local and would be extremely surprised if it's actually 10 2-tank trips.

If you're diving with Dixie Divers you may want to dive weekdays or Sat/Sun afternoons when the boat is not as crowded with classes.

Recently they cut their schedule to Thursdays - Sundays so make sure you call ahead before you decide to dive.

And it is 10 dives = 5 - 2-tank trips.

Kevin with Underwater Explorers runs a great OP!

After Talking to another person at Dixie Divers I was Told it was 10 dives or 5 -2 tanks . I stand corrected I was wrong Im glad I didnt buy over the phone from the first person I spoke with I would have been pissed. Thanks for the clarification

What they said. You can't go wrong with ScubaKev. If you do a search for Underwater Explorers on ScubaBoard you will read nothing but extremely positive reviews. Here is a link to a thread he has in the Florida Conch Forum that should give you a good idea of what kind of operation he runs: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/fl...379-boynton-dive-chronicles-new-improved.html

I've been diving with both Dixie Divers and Underwater Explorers and really enjoy diving with UW Explorers.

They are my favorite Florida charter.
