Hi could one of the SDI/TDI HQ guys please tell me the Prerequisites for this new level.
Thanks

Sure can. :)

SDI Staff Instructor Trainer is Scuba Diving International's newest leadership rating and allows graduates to conduct the SDI instructor development course (IDC) and SDI specialty ratings for instructors and assistant instructors. (This new rating is comparable with a course director level certification with other sport diving agencies).

Course prerequisites include:

Minimum of 21 years old
Active teaching status, OW instructor for at least one year and no QA issues for past 12 months
Certified at least 50 divers at following levels (minimum)
Open Water (20)
Rescue Diver (5)
DM or AI (2)
Specialty Diver (10)
Must have current CPROX and CPR1st or CPROX1st AED certification (or equivalent)
Must have current medical examination for diving.

Please note: this is an SDI rating only and graduates cannot conduct SDI IECs or TDI / ERDI instructor courses.

Hi Steve
Thanks for the reply.
Do you take other agency certs as proof of the min 50.
Thanks
James

Yes we do James, just as long as it's an agency we recognize and that has equivalent programs or ones we have some equivalency for... for example, NAUI, SSI, PADI, BSAC, et al.

James, do you have contact details for Stephen Phillips our UK director?
