Do you need to be cave certfied to dive this spring? I've heard the outflow ias very strong untill you get inside.any info would be appreciated. thanks.

Untill you get inside?
If you're going into the spring than yes cave certs would be a good idea only if you want to live to tell the tale. To check out the area around the spring vent then no you don't need cave certs,but I don't believe there isn't much depth or area around that spring.
Florida Cave, Cavern, and Sinkhole Diving has some info on this site being a no-mount entrance meaning you would need the appropriate training.
 
Thank You for answering my first post. The link and the news artical told me all I needed to know; just wish I was cave certified. but I'm still waiting for the next nitrox class. and have a long way to go.but am enjoying every learning step thansk again from scubabiker
 
There is also a cool sping on the North side of Fred Howard Park that is accessable to shore diving. As with the spring by Crystal Beach, is looks so out of place from the surrounding area. Crystal Beach spring is a good place for mangrove snapper though.
