Please don't go too far east or south of the green pier, we've ended up with divers all the way @ the Catalina Express docks in the past. The last few years an underwater fence has been deployed along the South border to keep folks safer. If you see it, keep north/west.

Please don't go out past 50' deep, we're patrolling out past that far into the mooring lanes but don't want you to come up in any boat traffic :(

Please exit at the same site you entered from. Some folks like to check our exiting cross checking just for fun, we're ON to ya ;~) We don't need the brain tease with 500 divers in the water.

Plenty of booty comes from all the sites, it will be an awesome year when nothing comes up! Sea ya Kayak side!

Year before last as 35ft I came across an outdoor mat with a frying pan sitting in the center of the mat and an empty wine bottle next to it. PS the mat was tough to drag around.

I was looking at a chart of Catalina, and best I can figure there is a line from Casino Point to the Express Landing mole where the depth drops to roughly 100'.

Where does the harbor go to 50'?

Ever have a dedicated/professional team with a surface support vessel work the deeper area between?

I think the South side of the pier is closed to entries now. 50' fsw is out past the end of the pier, but not all the way to the mouth of Av Bay. Call Jason over @ Av Mooring & Dive for more inner harbor details (1.310.510.0779?), or listen to your briefing onsite @ the clean up. No on the Com Ops question. No yak, Video instead this year. Sea ya there.

We will be there, and happy to support the Chamber! (Step Beach)

Unfortunately I will not be there (I will be in Brazil).

But we are supporting the event (sponsors), a DiveNav representative will be there and you will find in your goodies bag a present from DiveNav :D

With the rain and storms that have moved through our area, what is the viz forecast for Avalon now?

(And has anyone that has signed up for the 2009 Cleanup received their info package yet?)

My wife and I have recieved the "package" actually the envelope. All set up for "Step Beach." I'm guessing the vis is going to be good. Should be enough time for silt to settle after the storm and Wetsand.com is showing good swell and directions.

I'm watching the weather reports, and so far, it looks like things are supposed to clear up after tomorrow and get warmer into the weekend. Of course, there are no guarantees and this is a rain or shine event, but hopefully things will be fine. See you there!
