Today we went out to Molasses reef for Mothers Day. Viz was in the three digits and that shocking blue water. There was a decent current running. Plenty of fish, eagle rays, sting rays, and the usual mix of reef fish x1000. Computer said 80 degrees water temp which was nice.
It was just a picture perfect day out there!!

Wish I had pictures. I also spent the day out on the water with my three boys fishing. We had a blast water temp was 79-81 in one spot. The sea's were so nice today the vis was top to bottom. Saw a few big turtles and a few dolphin this morning going out. I could repeat today for the rest of my life.:D
I had a GREAT Mothers Day and Weekend !!!

Great Pics! Wish I was there :(

We tried to do the Duane the same day. Great viz but there were two fishing boats, one tied into the stern ball and they were both chumming for mahi-mahi. Got to about the 25 foot mark and there were several beefy looking sharks swimming in tight circles just below us. They seemed a little too frisky so we bagged it and did the Speigel. Again, a fishing boat tied into a ball with chum bags hanging out the back. We did it anyway and had two great dives.

I know they fish there but never saw them tied up to the balls

I think they tend to do it once the dive op boats clear out for the morning. Usually on the wrecks they're gone by 10 and don't come back for a few hours. I've seen them tied into the Eagle as well. I thought they weren't supposed to tie in at all but I guess I was wrong. I really don't care about the fishing as much as I was bothered by the chum.
