Where and who to dive with in the Dominican Republic?

Hello,

Im going to be in the Dominican Republic for a long weekend Aug. 27-31 and was wondering if anyone had any recommindations on a dive outfit that they have had good experience with.

Where are you going - north, south or east? Which resort are you staying at (if you know the name)?

we are staying at the paradisus palma real.

That's a resort in Punta Cana. Most of the resorts have their own dive shops or water centers, some better some not as good. I know one that is in Catalonia resort not too far from your resort, it's called Promarine Watersport - German owner. It used to be ran really well.

I don't know if the Paradisus Palma Real has its own dive centre but I believe that Paradisus hotels include free scuba diving in their all-inclusive rates, so your hotel should be able to arrange the diving for you.

If not, you can try Promarine which Vladi has very helpfully suggested. Alternatively, try Pelicano Watersport in the Dominican Republic, Bavaro and Punta Cana :: Scuba Diving :: Water Sports :: who are based at the nearby Barcelo Dominican Beach Resort.
