Hello my name is Tom Ellmer. I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia and i have just completed my classroom, pool requirements, and written exam for the Open Water Diver Course. I have not started my open water dives yet, however i am planning the open water dives for the weekend of October 10 & 11. I had a great instructor at Lynnhaven Dive Center in Virginia Beach and it was his suggestion that his students join this forum. My goal is to become a safe and knowledgeable diver, however safety is my #1 goal. I am a FAA licensed pilot and i know that in aviation we have old pilots, and we have bold pilots. We do not have any old & bold pilots. Safety as always been at the top for me in aviation and will continue to be in my diving. I hope to learn from this forum, and i would like suggestions from anyone about the exciting and safe world of scuba diving.

Welcome aboard Tom. I'm a licensed pilot myself and the old saying does indeed apply to diving. That attitude will go a long way to ensuring that you become an old diver. :)
