i hear about mares proton v42 have 2 version
but i don't know how different but... price diff about 100usd

and how can i check mares proton v42 version old or new?

it might be in the poppet. the nwere versions have a tri material version.
the price difference could also be to the primary 2nd stage that come with the first stage.
or it is a model the person want to sell off.

the only ways to tell would be to look at the primary 2nd and see which one it is, look at the poppet inside the first stage, or ask the person selling the gear

The only difference between the two will be the HP poppet as suggested by the other poster. The most recent MR42 first stage utilizes our trimaterial poppet. Perhaps the reason for the difference in price is, often dealers discount older style products to make room for new. Either way both are excellent and you should not feel as if you are buying antiquated technology if you go with the product on sale.

The newer 1st stage will indicate trimaterial valve on the cover. The stocking dealer would also know the difference if asked.

Best regards,

The original V42 used the SCS (Spherical Core Seal) system. This is the design where the HP poppet is all metal, and the soft seat is a doughnut shaped replaceable unit. The older V42 cannot be upgraded to the Tri-Material HP assembly. All other Mares diaphragm first stages can be switched over to the new design.

The image you display is an MR42 1st stage. All new production of the 42 1st stage is MR with the newer trimaterial poppet. This is clearly marked on the 1st stage; if you look closely at the image you posted you can read it. Otherwise the two 1st stages are the same. There is no "fake" 42 1st stage, just the older style vs. the newer. I can't help you abour trusting your seller, but a simple question asking if the regulator in question is the MR42 should result in a clear answer.

I hope this helps.
