Any diving going on tomorrow? (Sunday)

Not really sure at this point. Looks like it might be Hudson Grotto right now. Not sure if that's good or bad as I've long avoided this dive...

It really wasn't that bad. We hit the bottom and followed the lines. I liked it actually. I'll go back.

I could do without the smell afterward though....

What is the smell you speak of? I have not dove there but would like to try out my drysuit for a bunch of shake down dives and I live not to far from the place.

I have never dove this site (Hudson Grotto) but I have done Hospital Hole (similar location). There is a sulfer layer that smells something like rotten eggs. There was also a rumor that if you have a weak stomach it may make you puke. I dont think it is that awful, but it will leave your gear smelling foul.

It's not too bad, but yes - hydrogen sulfide - rotten eggs. I could actually taste it in Hospital Hole. I didn't think the Grotto was that bad. I only smelled it once I was home and in the shower. I think people equate the tanic water to bad/low viz. But the viz is actually pretty good. Below 45-50ft it becomes a night dive though - no light from the surface - so make sure you've got a good light.
