Humber Bay park is located west of the city of Toronto. There's a line that takes you from shore out to a few cement sewer pipe sections that were dumped there many years back. The place has been decorated by divers with a few road signs, toys and a used exorcise bike. Its a good site to dive on the weekend if you don't want to venture to far out side the city limits.

Cheers

Humber is the only one I'm aware off that does not freeze and have more or less acceptable depth and good entry. 36F today

Anyone know of any safe winter shore dives ? Not ice, but open water ?

You can use this website to get ice cover information. Right now neither Humber Bay nor Wiarton (Cedar Hill) are iced over.

To get to Humber Bay dive site, go to Humber Bay Park WEST, off Lakeshore at Parkside Drive. Follow the road, keeping to the right, until you get to the parking lot at the end of the road. You now have 3 entry points to choose from.

Here's a wreck called the Juno, never dived it yet though.

This time of year I usually hit Humber Bay West. Lots of parking space, easy shore entry, lines to follow if you want, and the vis is better this time of year than any other.

Usually there are a few hearty souls heading out each weekend - if you're looking for someone to go with you can post here or on Ontario Diving

Hope this helps. Cheers!
