We will be attending as it is just an 8 hour drive for us and since we have friends there we can stay with that saves, BUT it wouldnt matter as we would attend( we dont go when it is in Florida as the cost is to much) as it is the only place for us to see what is new in the product. Yes, the "travel specials" are fun,but I have been getting those emails for over 2 months now. It is really the gear for us, just goes to show you how pathic the manufactures reps are

I saw this thing - "DEMA Announces 1-Day Pass Option for Local Dive Professionals" where you can get in for $20 on Saturday which is when I go anyway for the deals.
"Dive Control Specialists" are something new to me.

If it was in Orlando, I'd go.

Well, anyone who wants to go to this years DEMA can get in. Maybe you can score a free T-shirt or a hat, have a drink at some Island party, schedule a "Fam" trip for some offshore location, that is what DEMA is now. Should get a good crowd from LA and other close environs.

Hmm, I personally dont have a problem with it, but I wonder what changed their minds.?

I thought they did a poll and the outcome was in favour of keeping it "Trade only".?

It's still trade only. Any DM/Dive Con or above has always been able to get in. One thing this might do is free up more time for the exhibitors to talk with actual buyers Wednesday through Friday.

Yeah, I dont know what I was thinking, I only saw now "Dive Professionals" I sort of wrongly read it as "The General Public". :dork2:

Yes, I know instructors, DM's etc have always (well recent always :) ) been able to get in, but even though I am a trade customer, I honestly dont have an issue with the public or any others getting in on a pre-determined specific day, say the last show day for instance - I know, I know, :D its not a common view, but I think anything that may stimulate the industry right now is good.

Widget: Anyone can get into DEMA-"Dive professional" or not. Show up and you can get in. This year should have a record number of drop ins, hangers on, etc. scamming price lists, looking for a free give away, talking folks into last day deals and all that.
