Hola amigos y amigas!

I've been out of the water too long and would like to get a dive in next weekend (Oct 23rd or 24th, or even an evening dive on the 22nd. Whoa.). Not a big deal, just a quick and dirty (!) single dive to keep the skills up... We can do drills if you like, or shove crawdads in each others' drysuits, I don't care.

Interested?

I don't have a lot of time (sorry, no Blue Hole), so it will have to be on the front range somewhere. Aurora? Chatfield? Boulder res? A mountain pond? Your backyard mud-puddle? Name it.

We go. :D

Not to burst your bubble, but I believe Aurora Res is closed for the season. I COULD be wrong, but I believe that around the end of Sept they shut down the entire res, and hide it in the closet.

You may try Turquoise Lake. We've had such a nice Fall I think the water temps would still be reasonable, and last I was there the vis was in the 35' range.

Good Luck!

I believe Oct 31st is the last day the dive beach is open. (Why, I ask, why?)

Winterhawk and I are headed there Sunday morning... we shall see!

I think it closes on the last day of October. It was certainly open much earlier this year that we thought when we went in May and were the first divers.

I would love to dive with you guys but I'm flying out of town on Sunday evening :(

We'd love to have you!

The last day of diving at Aurora res is October 31st.

_______________Just for kicks______________________
Flying and diving on the same day? Dive nitrox!
Make your max depth at Aurora res ~30ft (27 at the plane).
Altitude adjusted for 6000ft = 36ft SWE. Call it 40ft for safety.
40ft SWE = 1.21ATM
Pressure absolute = .80 Atm (surface pressure @ 6000ft) + 1.21 = 2.01ATM
Normal atmospheric ppN2 = .79 (You don't want to exceed this if you're going to fly)
For the right nitrox mix, do the algebra: .79 = [ppN2 from your tank] * 2.01ATM
so...
ppN2 = .79/2.01 = .393
ppO2 = 1 - PPN2 = .607
Get your tank filled with 61% O2, keep it shallow, and you're golden!

[crickets chirping]

Uh, okay, well have a good flight. :D
