I'm also moving to Maryland in a month or so. Can anyone tell me about any good local diving near the DC area. Anything worth seeing in the upper Chesapeake? Are there any good quarries around?

you are 30 years too late for diving the chesapeake bay. Diving here really sucks Upper bay is like entering fecal soup:D You need a MOP Level IV exposure suit so dermal entry of the Bay water doesnt contaminate you.

Good news is there is lots of great people in dive clubs that do trips. and there is lots of work here so $$$$

I save my money and do the NC offshore stuff and Fla,Key West

Up here I use the dive boat to run to the restaurant and have crabs and Beer
We trailer it to Key West for diving

@ hannahevan is that 7mm all year or just winter?

For classes in the VA area, where do most dives take place? I want to knock out a couple of specialties while I am here.
