What's the diving like in the Fort Myers/ Naples area? I'm going down for business and was considering doing some diving if there's something to see. Are there any operators who schedule regular trips?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

There are lots of dive shops in the area. Not as many charters. Try calling Deans Dive Center or Capt. Pete's Dive Outfitters in Ft. Myers

The diving off SW Florida tends to be far offshore, which can be great, but you need to be prepared for long boat rides.

90 minutes from Naples is Ft. Lauderdale, and the diving there is easier. Usually better viz, and a multitude of dive sites less than 2 miles from shore.

An hourish North to Venice and you can dive for sharks teeth. Several good dive outfits in Fort Lauderdale as Glock Dive said.

Somehow this thread got posted on the forum for my dive club here in Fort Lauderdale. I don't know that any of our members ever dive in Naples. I'll have a mod move it.

Long boat rides are the norm in the Gulf and the water gets quite cool without the Guf Stream to warm it. Better to drive to Ft. Lauderdale for better dives and warmer water. Excellent dive charters are The Sea Experience and The American Dream. Both can be found online.
