Whale Shark in Botany Bay?

Has anyone heard anything more about the whale shark spotted in Botany Bay by some people from Abyss Dive last week (19 April)?

I'd not heard of whale sharks being spotted in Sydney waters before (though I've only been diving for 5 years so...), anyone else had the pleasure of spotting one of these guys either from the surface or underwater in/close to Sydney?

Hey guys,

I was driving the boat out of the heads when we spoted it. It was amazing. At first i thought it was a large tiger shark, but when i came up to the boat and poked its eye out of the water to see us, i knew exactly what it was.

We actually drove right past it at full speed, and when we spotted it we put the boat in neutral and slowed to a stop. We waited for about 5 minutes and it actually found us, and swam up to the boat to check us out. How funny is that hey! We are frantically trying to look for it, but it took the initiative to actively seek us out to see what we were. lol hehehehe

no. that was a sperm whale.
