I'm making a move from NorCal out to New England (Newport, RI area) and am looking for some local info on where the places to dive are located. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the area!

You can't go wrong by picking up the following books, for a start:

"A Shore Diving Guide to New England" by Jerry Shine
"Beneath the Waters of Massachusetts Bay" by Donald Ferris.

hth,

Steve

Books good advice.....I can give you some good Dive areas around Cape Cod..both shore and boat. Good Charter Boat on C.C. is The Dive Locker. Good luck

The two sites should consider in Jamestown area are Ft. Wetherill and Beavertail State park. Search this forum and you'll find plenty of info on those two sites.

you'll be sure to find plenty of divers on weekends at Wetherill to buddy up with.

The water is warmer than N. Cal.
