I'm curious how the recent experiences were in Grand Turk for both SugarInWater and Tarheeldiver as we are booked at Bohio in mid June.

I just got back late last time from Bohio.
I will do a better review in a few days but I think you will love the place especially if you are like me and like the smaller out of the way places. We had a wonderful surprise when we arrived to find that Steve and Ellie from Saba now work at Bohio. You will love both of them and Ginnie and Tom are constantly asking if you need anything. If I can answer any questions just ask.

Bohio uses Osprey Divers. To many people on the boats. I saw boats with 10 to 15 people. We used Mitch at Blue Water Divers. We had only 4 people on our boats. We dove every day for the past week. Go with less people and you will see more. I have attached two pics from last week

Hey there,
We were there the feb. 4-12 this year. Stayed at Bohio. The resort is just okay in my eyes, we have stayed many other places in the Caribbean and would not rank this as one of our favorites.
We had a group of 30 divers so we had all but one room. They are in no way equipped to handle a dive group. The rooms are just okay, kind of small, noisy a/c units. Kind of worn out (even though some reviews say updated).

The food is good, but they really kind of screwed us on the included breakfast, 5 of us got there a day earlier then the rest of the group and we had a great breakfast, but the rest of the week they had a semi buffet on the bar counter with runny eggs, not so good bacon and toast, bagel, fruit and cereal. the toasters never hardly worked and for what we paid to have breakfast included it was a big disappointment. Now if you had lunch and dinner Yoricka (sp) is an awesome chief, fun lady from South Africa..

The diving was okay, i am sure better conditions are available but they are nice walls.

For my money hands down I would go back to Little Cayman Beach Resort, way better resort and overall food and much better dive op.

Bohio is not a dive resort. Grand Turk has little to offer (you can find some things to look around at). If you do go it is fine but other places are better. Go to the liquor store and buy a case of beer and local rum and save a ton of money if that is important to you.
While there we visited Osprey Beach Inn, it looked to be a better place to stay although the beach at Bohio is better.

We have been to Bonaire 3x, Curacao, Cozumel 4x, Belize 2x, Provo 2x and Grand Turk and Little Cayman. I only say this so you know we have been around. Sometimes people give reviews on a stay and they have been no where else except a big resort. We like small resorts and dive, eat, sleep.

I would not go back to Grand Turk unless it was a 2 for 1 deal or something very enticing.

Hope that helps, the people of the Island were very nice. we did see Humpback Whales as they were migrating that part of the year.

By the way Steve the dive master is a very nice guy, was at Saba for sometime. Bohio does have their own Dive Boat.

What were the dive conditions like? Looking for specifics....water temp, Viz, current....any thermocline...type of suit you dove......thanks!

This post meant for the folks who just got back from Grand Turk...

Netwayne just got back last week viz was around 75 ft most dives some more some less. Water was cool when we were there 76 by my computer dive shop said it had turned cooler in the last week. I took a shorty and a 3 mil and ended up wearing both of them. No current to speak of on any dives water was calm all week. It was very easy diving a few deep dives but nothing hard at all.

Thanks for the particulars, THD I will bring my 3mil. We will be there about 5 weeks after your trip so water should be a little warmer. Did you dive air or Nitrox? Go Heels!

Bohio does not have nitrox we only did 2 dives daily so no problem. All dives you can do at a shallower depth if you need too. We did several 90 minute dives on the 2nd dive. The first dive is usually 80 to 100 ft deep. My max depth for the trip was 116 I think.

no nitrox on the island. I least I did not see any. Temp was 79 at about 60 feet. Viz about 75 feet most days. Last thursday and friday vis was about 40. Storm was coming in. I wore a 2 mil suit the whole time with no problem.
Was there last week. Ran into a few dolphins earlier that week and saw two nurse sharks a ton of turtles, rays and lion fish
