Old Garden Beach, 7/23/11

This afternoon I met up with a few of my buddies at Old Garden Beach. Aside from suiting up in the sun it was a nice relaxing dive. When we got there there was a cookout with the Friends of Old Garden Beach, we didn't have any issues, but apparently some other divers were getting hassled when they were loading and unloading their gear.

The conditions were pretty good, visibility was at least 15' in some spots and it was relatively warm except when it got deeper. At 57fsw it was about 48 degrees. We got in only one dive before we had to run for the day, but it was well worth it.

Thanks for your report and your pics! That starfish is a less common variety, I think. Been a long time since I've seen one like that.

Who hassled the divers? What was the complaint?

I agree about the starfish, I've only seen a few around here as well.

As for the people, we didn't get hassled but some of the divers that were leaving told us to make sure we didn't leave any gear on the lawn. Apparently, the people having the cookout were getting on their case probably just because they were having their event that day.
