lots of options on Tao, scuba pro etc etc buy layers if you can i.e. 3mm suit and rash vest or look out for sharkskin, non neoprene same as 3mm protection and awesome for tropical waters as standalone or under a suit on its own.
 
Griffo it's been 2 years since I was there, but the gear prices were cheaper than Australia (compared with Cairns where I used to live). I'd consider just asking the op you dive with if you could use the same wettie for your stay. I did this no prob's. $100 AUD for a shorty ain't to bad though

We're planning on getting hitched in the Solomons next year, so I'm up for buying a tropical suit, just can't get them in Vic. That's why I was thinking the sharskins (easier to pack) but fell over at the price.

14 days till I get on a plane. Cannot wait. Mentally checked out already.
