Hello all. Reading through some of the post here, the issue with boaters and PWC's not recognizing and knowing what the dive flag means still remains a big problem. Our dive into this issue, like others, began because of an accident. This one fatal. It is very difficult for divers to be confident in the use of the dive flag, when that very flag attracts the boaters and PWC's to your dive area.

We have started a facebook page to spread the knowledge of the dive flag and its meaning. To our surprise we have found it very hard to get the dive community to support the effort. Without the dive community solid support, it will be very hard to get the boating community support. Initial contacts with companies such as Yamaha Waverunners, Sun Tan Boats and others has been favorable, however they do look at our page. And if the support isn't there, we are not going to get them to move forward with any initiatives that might help.

With that we are making an appeal to all, at a minimum, give us a like on our facebook page. If you want to go the extra mile and get involved by spreading the word, making contact with companies or anything else you can think of, that would be even more helpful. There are three admins for the page and we are doing all we can, but we need lots and lots more help!

Our facebook page can be found at www.facebook.com/DiveFlagAwareness

Our mission:
1. Get support from the dive community. Even if you are in an area where this is not an issue, your support helps others.
2. Get the boat community involved. Hopefully make the dive flag a common part of boating vocabulary on par or surpassing that of the skier down flag.
3. Get the dive and boat manufactures involved in the effort. Just a simple flyer for every boat and/or pwc sale could make a major difference.

Thanks for your time. Again we need your support and ultimately your help to make this happen.
