A pod of lobster and two lion fish.

[h=5]Did our first night dive on the Blue Heron Bridge last night for about 80 minutes. Had a great dive, pretty good vis for the bridge with 20ish feet average. 79 degrees, only a mild current under the bridge itself. Saw lot's of Sea Robins, dozen's of small rays, several barracuda including a very large one, one pipefish and one Flying Gunnard. Also a lot of Horseshoe Crabs. A couple of eels, a dozen very small lobster, and a sleeping Parrot fish with a remora stuck to it plus all the normal night critters - except an octopus :-( - darn! rounded out the dive.[/h]

Greetings BHB Divers,

Give thanks with Pura Vida this season!

In honor of the ocean, Pura Vida Divers will be holding an Ocean Thanksgiving on November 17th.

The day's activities will include:

* A Blue Heron Bridge Dive: High tide is at 10:47am. Our staff will be starting their dive at 10am. You may join them or start your dive whenever you feel the most comfortable.

* A Thanksgiving Feast: We ask that guest please bring a small covered dish of food to the party. Our feast will be a pot-luck. This way everyone is sure to be able to have their favorite Thanksgiving dish. If you will be diving with us in the morning, please drop your covered dish off at the shop before heading over to Phil Foster Park. The feast will begin at noon.

* Our storewide Thanksgiving Holiday Sale with additional discounts on select items and gift cards. The doors open at 9:00am and close at 6:00pm

* The winner of the Thankful for the Ocean contest will be announced: The winner will be able to choose from a list of prizes. Yes we noticed that also! Most of them were "dating" that we saw during the dive.

Unfortunately, I saw a lionfish too last night and did not have a spear or poker. For anyone diving the west side, it was located along the south most piling or pillar that separates the boat channel from the area that can still be dove. If anyone plans on diving the west side anytime soon, take a skewer or something else to get it. I was not a huge one, but too big to try to stab with a dive knife. Here's a picture.
