Glad to hear that you're largely alright and I hope your symptoms end up passing sooner than later.

Not to thread-jack but I didn't know having DCS increased your risk of having it again?

A myth not supported by fact.

Every hit has one or more causes so until that is known, you just don't know. In some cases the cause is not clearly determined, but one hit does not in itself lead to another.

I was also wondering if you were worked up for a PFO?

Curious myself, I was diagnosed with a PFO and after speaking with the specialist at DAN there is still is a lot of conjecture on increased risk of DCS. They also felt if you had an unqualified hit you should be evaluated for the PFO. The owner of the shop I dive with had this happen, had the surgery and has been fine to date.

This is one of the most depressing posts I've ever read on this forum (outside of Accidents and Incidents). I can't imagine not diving anymore.

I'm sorry, but try speaking to multiple specialists, just in case. :crying::crying:

Maybe ask the doctor about keeping your dives to shallow waters? Like maybe 30ft or shallower? Would dramatically decrease your chances for another hit and you can still enjoy a lot of diving. Just an idea.

IMHO if I was in your situation and worried that on any given dive, no matter how careful I was, I would take a hit again, it would suck all the joy right out of my dives so why continue. Get a camera and hit all the National Parks. Camp, hike, enjoy life.

I am sorry to hear of your decision...

Do you have plans for any of your gear.. :)

Is that not called snorkeling?
