Can anyone identify this 1st Stage?
It's currently paired with a Mares Voltrex and Orbiter 2nds.

And if any info on quality of it vs say MR12 or MR22..

No, they were merely cosmetic. The end cap was removed so that the CWD (silicone oil filled chamber) could be installed.

If I read Greg correctly, the blunt end of that thing is filled with silicone oil....be careful if you decide to dissamble it or you will have a mess on your bench. :)

Greg, that thing looks a lot like a late Dacor. Did Mares use some Dacor designs for a while?

Mares actually built the last generation of Dacor regs. The Mares service kits are available for those particular models.
