I'll bet that they will give you a rain check. I'd be shocked if they didn't. They don't want you coming back here with another "Aggressor Sucks" story. OTOH, if they don't, just tell them you have decided to go anyway. You expect to have to transport your wife ashore on Tuesday for a medical emergency, and you'll have yours on Thursday. Believe me, we liveaboard operators hate medical emergencies. Screws up the whole schedule, and everyone else on the boat has a lousy time.

Sending you a prayer and a hug for your wife's speedy, complete and full recovery. Hopefully, by this time next month you'll be dancing. That would be an especially good trick if you don't dance now.

Did you book the ttip through a credit card? Some of them have trip insurance built in.

I am so sorry to hear about your wife's condition. Yes, do look into your credit card to see if they have any coverage. Many times, however, they include "travel insurance", but it doesn't cover trip cancellation.

The official terms and conditions on the Aggressor's web page says that 100% of the fare is forfeited if you cancel for any reason within 90 days of the trip. Hopefully, they will be able to provide you with some flexibility to reschedule for a later date.

As for your flight, many airlines, even with the most restrictive fares, allow you to reschedule for a change fee (plus change in fare). Check the T&C of your ticket or call the airline or your travel agent to see what is available.

If you can change your air ticket as late as day of departure and Aggressor is going to charge you the full price of the trip, you might just want to wait and see. With any luck, maybe your wife will have kicked cancer's butt.

Good luck to both of you.
