I have family in Austin and Houston. They are both panicking right now over the ``cold.'' It is currently -8 here, and I told them I would gladly trade.
Panicking? Really? It's cold here in Austin, unusually cold for here, that's true, but isn't "panicking" a bit strong? When streets ice over, schools close and folks stay home from work because we don't have the experience or the equipment to deal with it routinely. It just doesn't happen that often - usually once in a winter if that, and twice in 5 days is very unusual.

Would you "panic" if there were days on end of 100+ degree temperatures where you are? It's all in what you are used to.

I live just a tiny bit to the right of the red baloon in the little map shown & for a lot of the time yesterday we couldn't see the end of my driveway where it meets the road, which is about 30 meters from the window.
Surely you must be able to see the red balloon from your window. If it's that big on the map, it must be huge in real life!

Rockin it old school winter up here in Northern Michigan. We're nearly at our annual total of snow and we aren't even half way there yet. Yippee-ki-yaa!
