Pensacola lionfish

Hey guys,
I'm gonna be in pensacola for the week of june 9th and we are looking for a few good spots to shore dive from. Would love to be able to hunt some lionfish if possible, we are gonna do a couple dive charters but only a couple. Willing to drive within reason for a good dive spot.

Shore dives for Lionfish are limited. Some, like Ft. Pickens do not allow spearfishing. Others have limited populations, due to regular hunting or low density. Frequently visited spots will also be fairly low density, also due to regular hunting. That said, you can almost always find a few.
Charters will take you to more fish. Many charters are specifically targeting LF, visiting natural bottom, and smaller pyramid/reefball sites, that are not usually visited for group diving. This is especially true if you express an interest in LF hunting when you inquire. We are trying to get fish to several restaurants, to develop a market for Lionfish dishes and recipes. Many local spearfisherfolk are also plating their own dishes at home.
Plenty of hunting opportunities in pCola, no need to drive. Lots of good operators to choose from as well. Give us a call. We'll be happy to help.
