Travel search help and ideas

Hello all,
I'm a (semi) recent college grad who is in need to take a vacation (as I'm sure we all need a vacation...). I've never gotten out of the country of the US of A, and am wanting to spread my wings and leave the cage.

My reason for posting is asking for advice of people: do you have any recommendations of where to look for "good deals" on vacation travel and locations? I'll be upfront and say a cruise is not my prefered vacation idea.

I'd appreciate any advice people will have offer and thank you in advance.
