Query for the board members: What Scubapro regulator would be budget friendly and perform in cold water aka 38-80 degrees is my reality...if I need to donate to a buddy.... Thankyou!!!
 
I don't need a $700 regulator....something a little less expensive.....
 
Same one as your primary is the best option. G260 is the best scubapro 2nd stage. R195 is okay as well for octo but it needs to be well tuned.

I use a r295 on my pony...great little reg. But I agree, generally better to have identical regs for primary and backup.

All bashing aside... You may still be able to pick up a HOG classic second stage for 65 bucks. That's about the best bang for the buck for a reg that performs well!
