Just returned on the 2nd of January and did not do a dive. Was told that the best place to dive was about 2 hours away at Catalina island or anywhere around La Romana side of the island. They had an excursion to Catalina which is two tank dive including meals and would cost a little over $500 for me and my wife. Mind you we had our regulators and masks. My understanding is that you have to take a catamaran from the Dream to go to the beach.

I am also going February 1st. Staying at Grand Bahia Principe; The CDC recommends malaria prophylaxis. We got prescription for Doxycycline and Cipro for travelers diarrhea just in case. Was looking forward to diving but reports are not encouraging. How far from Punta Cana to Bayahibe?

it's an all day trip, most of the dive shops do a trip over. for a reasonable price.
