Hi,

Where do you get ice screws from? We have Mountain Equipment Co-op, but last I checked the wanted over $100 each. Any ideas?

Thanks

BD makes great screws but to be honest they are over kill unless you need them for rescue (CYA). Just get some 12-14" sections of rebar and pound than into the ice like you would a tent peg.

BD's are exactly what I was after...How come $39 in the States and $120 in Canada. Stupid friggen gov'mnt. I already give them better than 40% of my paycheck and they just keep sucking me for more, more, more. Sorry...but thanks for the reply, I'll order some to a friends in the states and get them next time I am there.

I picked three up off eBay for very little. They seem to be an item people grow out of and realise they don't need. They were about (equivalent) US$10 each inc postage IIRC.

Nice looking ice screws, pitons and crampons. Uh-oh, more gear to hanker over that's just as expensive as dive gear.
