A guy was telling me a story last night about diving a sea cave in Monterey that was shore accessible. He described the entrance as at the base of a cliff below some houses, off a road that went through a nearby tunnel, and with an access gate that is locked at night. The cave mouth is visible above water.

This doesn't ring any kind of bell, but I thought he might have meant Carmel, somewhere west of Santa Cruz, or maybe south of Lobos somewhere. He swore it was just before hitting Monterey, which makes no sense at all. He thought it was a big cave, but apparently didn't go in to it, or far into it.

Anybody recognize this?

Nowhere I know of, and I've even diving here regularly for a few years now. There are no houses at the top of the Jade Cove cliff.

Yeah, but the locked gate and tunnel fit. Otherwise no clue either. Describe geography doesn't really fit at all...
