I am off to Egypt shortly for a few dives and have 3 bars left on my battery (suunto zoop) would you replace it before I go or will it be o.k. for max 10 dives?

Why take the chance? Cost of battery replacement is small compared to cost of trip.

If it fails anytime soon...it WILL be on your trip. It has happened twice to me...both times on a dive trip in countries where getting a replacement was tough.

BTW,

I have five Zoops I use for teaching and you "should" be fine.

Hi,
depends a bit on when it dropped to 3 bars. Obviously safest to have it changed instead of taking the chance, especially when you intend to go on some dives after your trip anyway. Speaking in my behalf(!) I'd put into the fridge or outside (7-10°C & 30' should do) to get more confidence in the battery's strength. If it still gives 3 bars, all good. If it drops to 2 bars I'd have it changed or at least prepare a plan B.

One of my two computers is a Zoop. It showed a good battery but I started having it fail to hold the Nitrox settings prior to a dive. New battery solved the problem. Not a zoop but had a buddy get LOCKED OUT of his computer at 80%. I would replace it. Batteries are cheap. Why worry.
