Los Islotes was one of my favorite dive sites when I worked as a marine biologist/underwater videographer on Lindblad Expeditions eco-cruise ships based out of La Paz. The sea lions were willing subjects to film.

On one of my trips there I was filming snorkelers at the surface from a depth of about 20 ft. I filmed one sea lion juvenile jump up onto a guest and start ripping small pieces off his wetsuit. The man (John) was a movie director from Los Angeles and I feared he might have been injured. When I finally surfaced, John was bleeding from his shoulder and laughing about how exciting it had been.
